Demotivational Pictures: sending feminism backwards in time

Seriously, I can’t be the only one who has noticed this, but there are so many demotivational posters where the pictures are just of some “hot chick” and the caption just makes it worse than it already is. Not to mention the fact that most of the time, the girl is either completely naked or wearing nothing but a bikini. More under the break.

Umm, excuse me? Oh, and here’s an example of the type I mentioned in the first paragraph.

Granted, not all demotivators are like this, but the fact that so many of them are is disgusting. Another example is the “Epic boobs” demotivators. Basically, a picture of a girl with large breasts with “Epic boobs” as the title and something else under it. One has a picture of a girl’s face really close to the so-named “Epic boobs” and the caption is something along the lines of “Can turn a straight girl into a lesbian in 0.38 seconds”.

But then I begin to think… why do girls take these pictures of themselves? One has a couple of Asian teenagers making out… another has one preteen-looking girl lying in her bed while another squats over her in a provocative-looking reverse-cowgirl position… (and of course, the title is “Jailbait”). These girls obviously do it because they think it makes them appear more attractive. They know that guys like it, so they take pictures of themselves pulling unnessecarily sexual stunts. I’m really not sure what else to say about this. I think, really, most of it speaks for itself. Girls feel the need to post slutty pictures of themselves for attention, guys drool over them and make perverted captions and send them to each other. End of story.
